Born in Kharkiv. Recently I live and work in Kyiv.
I learned about the existence of methodological movement from Oleksandr Buriak, who taught at my course at the architectural faculty of Kharkiv Civil Engineering Institute. Systematically participated in his seminars. Also he introduced me to Oleh Anisimov and Viacheslav Hlazychev.
I saw and heard for the first time H.P. Shchedrovitsky in Kharkiv House of Scientists at his open lecture on the meaning of methodology. Then I participated in several "big" games, supervised by Heorhii Petrovych. There were not many of them, about ten. In particular (those that are more memorable), in Kharkiv -on education issues, in Moscow Institute of Oil and Gas named after Hubkin, in Odessa - on problems of city development, in Kyiv - at the methodological congress, at "The Dog Ribs" near Sverdlovsk at methodological seminar.
In the mid-80s I conducted a cycle of my own educational games at Kharkiv Institute of Public Utilities, took part in educational games, conducted by U.L. Vorobyov, O.P. Buriak, U.M. Mikheiev.
The next important life stage is the joint work with Oleksandrr Buriak on the development of regional policy of atomic department of the USSR and later in Russia. Within the framework of this program, a cycle of games was conducted throughout the territory of the USSR (the first was held in Vladivostok). In this program, a framework of a specialized type of games was formed-a social and professional examination of socially significant decisions, taking into account the interests of all the parties involved.
In partnership with Mr Buryak, series of studies on the development of individual cities and regions, on new environmental approaches and the bases of national environmental policy for Ukraine (1992-1993), intellectual management of local and regional development was also carried out.
In 1995, again together with O. Buriak, we launched the initiative program "Management of development of small and medium-sized cities in Ukraine", some elements of which are working until today.
Recently I have been engaged in advisory activities and development on issues of national regional policy and policy of individual regions, local government, sectoral reform, and political consultations.
And all this - on the basis of the thinking culture that I had received when I started to deal with methodological movement. I have never considered myself as a methodologist, more like – the user.
